About Advisors
LEN's mission and goal is to help innovative
entrepreneur's build sustainable and profitable
businesses. We do this by leveraging community and
business resources for the benefit of the
entrepreneur. We have discovered that senior-level
business and community leaders are eager to help
guide and advise entrepreneurs pro bono,
and so we have been able to build an incredibly
strong and experienced network of these leaders.
LEN has created an impressive Advisor Program.
Our large network of advisors
features key political, community, and business
leaders in Colorado. Our entrepreneurs, with the wealth of
knowledge, experience, and contacts of the LEN
Network at their fingertips, have a 74% chance of
business success, nearly triple that of the state
average. Our clients have the ability to build
advisory boards for regular guidance on their
businesses, to tap the network with a single
question or have access to any of our advisors
when needed.
Advisor Requirements
LEN seeks advisors with
backgrounds relevant to early-stage
businesses - people who have the
knowledge, experience and "lessons
learned" helpful to
entrepreneurs. We seek executives,
senior managers, successful
entrepreneurs, industry or
functional experts and professionals
who are motivated to share their
knowledge and contacts with
entrepreneurs to help them succeed. The more experience or knowledge you
have, the more you can benefit an
entrepreneur. When volunteering on
an advisory board, you need to be
able to donate 2-4 hours a month to
work with an entrepreneur and must
be comfortable sharing your
expertise in an advisory board
setting.
Advisor Roles
Here are some roles
advisors can take
within LEN.
They include:
-
Client Advisory Board: New LEN clients build an advisory board to help guide a company through growth and with acute problem solving. This group is composed of 5-10 people who each have a senior level of functional-area expertise, and have held senior level positions within their industry. Time commitment is approximately 8-12 hours per quarter.
-
Senior Advisor: These advisors have a deep level of expertise in a particular functional or industry specialty. These volunteers offer input in a variety of settings on an as-needed basis.
-
Panel Member: Functional panels consist of one or two sessions that meet with specific objectives in mind - such as helping an entrepreneur structure a financing deal or examining specific go-to-market strategies. Advisors in these areas tend to have focused expertise and must be willing to donate 2-3 hours per meeting for about 2 meetings with some preliminary preparation time. Learn More
